Very traditional Japanese Ryokan. Foods may be unfamiliar to foreign travelers but they supply a large meal with many different small things to try. Rooms are exceptional, clean, well cared for. Location is the best possible. Centrally located to all of the towns attractions.
Staff is kind, hardworking and will go the extra mile to help out.
The private Onsen is small and cozy with wonderful scenery.
The building is older and has not been updated, this adds to its charm but it also shows in little things like carpet.
Overall a wonderful experience, will be returning!

I would like to extend my heartfelt commendation to Matsuya Kinosaki for making our stay in Kinosaki truly unforgettable. The ryokan’s central location offers exceptional convenience, with easy access to the town’s famous onsens, allowing us to fully immerse ourselves in the charm of this beautiful destination.
From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed. The gentleman at the front desk promptly assisted with our luggage and thoughtfully arranged parking for our car, setting the tone for the impeccable service we experienced throughout our stay.
I would also like to express my sincere appreciation for the care taken in accommodating our “no beef” dietary preference. Every meal was thoughtfully prepared, and both breakfast and dinner were nothing short of exquisite—sumptuous, fresh, and beautifully presented.
The attention to detail, gracious hospitality, and overall experience exceeded our expectations.

The staff were really wonderful. They helped us get situated and taught us a lot about the danjiri festival that takes place in kinosaki onsen. I would happily return in a future trip!
