Luz y Mar

We discovered the Luz Y Mar during our stay in Lanzarote back in September. We were drawn to the fabulous poolside bar (Kathy’s) and the lovely staff who work hard to run it 😊 We decided to try these apartments as we love the location of them (middle of and within walking distance of the old and new town), close to Lidl, supermarkets, restaurants, bars and bus stop. We arrived at the apartment by 10 and our apartment was ready. We had a decent size living room with a tv. The kitchen had everything you needed. We were only there for 4 days this time but in honesty we only ever use the kettle, toaster and fridge. The bedroom was quite small but the bed was comfortable, a decent size wardrobe (with plenty of coat hangers!!) and a safe! The bathroom was small but we had towels (which were changed after day 2) and toilet paper which again was restocked after 2 days. If you are looking for typically basic Spanish accommodation then this is perfect! My husband and I literally use our apartment to sleep and shower. Some of the apartments are around the pool. Ours was by the reception area… it was very peaceful. The pool is large and has the sun all day! I would definitely recommend and we will stay here again. It was an absolute bargain!!!

Cons-The bedroom in the apartment was very dark even tho it was daylight, we were not unable to open the blinds, we had to use the lamps in the bedroom to see, The reception was only open until 1:30-2pm, daily, we were only able to leave our luggage until then, this was a big let down also as our flight was a not until late evening, so therefore had to carry our luggage with us around the town. Would benefit from an iron and ironing board in the apartment. It was draughty in the apartment would possibly benefit from a heater in the colder months, no fresh towels or bedding given. Pros-there were a few bars and supermarkets right next to apartments.

Stayed here for 5 nights was cheapest I found online- the complex has so much potential but unfortunately very dated and lack of cleanliness. Out apartment was big enough bathroom on smaller side with door opening right on the toilet but other than that size was good. Balcony was directly outside the pool area which was nice and also had a table and chairs to sit outside. The apartment itself was very dated decor and “sofa” was wood with a thin foam bit very uncomfortable! The kitchen only had a microwave and a hob and fridge the rest you had to rent at $20 each. The fridge smelt awful like something went off in there so didn’t use that. We had loads of little flys and cockroaches coming out of the bathroom door frame. About a 10min walk down to the front or the harbour so good location
