Only 4-star for facilities because there is no way to contact reception in case of a powercut. Front-desk staff were friendly, and the first time I was there, the receptionist checked me into the wrong hotel in a massive room. My pleasant first stay in the wrong hotel was the reason I returned a second time. I had a lovely stay there. However, the second stay was located in the vacant building across the street (there were no staff present anywhere), so I took the stairs up in case I got stranded inside the lift. There was a grey metal door next to my room, which did not seem to be a guest room. Cigarette smoke was coming from that door every hour or few hours (2nd floor). There was a power cut, so I spent 2 hours (estimated) without aircon or lights, and my entire room was full of choking smoke from the smoker. Once the power returned, I put wet toilet paper around the gaps in the door frame and a soaking wet towel on the floor under the door to try to stop the cancer-causing odors from coming in. I couldn't leave the place quickly enough and wouldn't give eye contact or smile or any pleasantries. I just had to get out of there asap and leave the key on the vacant desk, walking fast to a place of fresh air I imagined was somewhere in front of me. I didn't sleep that night because I was always woken up every few hours by the horrible smell and pain in my lungs. When there wasn't smoke coming in, it was freezing cold to clear the room of smoke using the aircon. The hotel name is causing huge confusion and ambiguity to both me and the staff. The frist thing I did when I arrived the first time was to say to reception "Is this the Lumina Star Hotel?" The staff confirmed yes! But it isn't. That is the Star Hotel and Spa, but the Lumina Star has no staff on duty. I think; this is my best understanding of the situation. In addition, the hot water also took 10 mins to resemble anything that could be considered warm, and there was no hairdryer present.

I think they upgraded my room. Was so nice. Will be coming back today.

Unfortunately, the room I have accommodated had so many mosquitoes. It seems like the toilet flooring wasn't constructed correctly hence it floods whenever I took a bath. Apart from that, the window view was pathetic. It was literally facing a wall. Never going to stay here again.
