Charming and very friendly hosts. Nadia was happy to offer assistance and advice on things to see and do in and around beautiful Goris. Fabulous outdoor seating areas on many levels throughout the hostel. Rooms are spacious and clean. Our twin room/shared bathroom had a bedside table ,lamp and sockets. There was a table, chair and wardrobe. The shared bathroom had a powerful and hot shower, sometimes a little difficult to control the temperature but can't complain when so lovely and hot. It wasn't cleaned every day and had to ask for toilet paper when running low but forthcoming on asking and not a big problem. There is a shared kitchen, which was great but it lacked a few things...large cutting knife and dinner plates for example. However, we managed perfectly well.
At two of the largest supermarkets you could choose your meat/potatoes/veg and it would be cooked over the coals at a fraction of the restaurant prices...40min wait for the cooking, this was great and used them twice.
Wonderful walks/hikes around and above Goris, the views were beautiful and made even better with all the glorious spring flowers.
Nadia's husband is a talented and famous artist with his own studio within the grounds of the hostel. He's more than happy for you to take a look and of course there are some of his paintings available for sale if you want a souvenir.
They have a beautiful, friendly dog called Jessie who lives in a compound on the top floor....sadly she can't come out because she has a tendency to run away but if you're a dog lover, she's thrilled to have visitors.
Excellent location just to the side of ,the very ugly and huge Hotel Goris (Russian era) but makes it very easy to find.
