The hotel is just outside resort, a 10-15 min walk to the slopes or a minibus which you have to be a little patient with but perfectly adequate for what it is. The restaurant offers a wide selection of food at breakfast & dinner and the bar is adequate for most of your needs. The spa is lovely, just a shame kids aren’t supervised. The only downfall is the attitude of the reception and bar staff who seem to not care about you or your stay.

Winter holiday week in hotel Lion, was really nice, with excellent food, enjoyed in swimming pool activities and sauna, practical ski depots, bus scagual connections with gondola, clean room. Very good service and quiet location of hotel.

We arrived just after 2:30 on a Friday. The property itself is lovely, and the lobby looks exactly as it did in the online photos. However, the rooms seem neglected, as if all the renovation effort was focused on the front area. While the new chairs and lighting in the common areas are chic and modern, the rooms and bathrooms have not been updated. Upon entering the room, there was a noticeable moldy odor coming from the bathroom. The room was decent, but the bedspread had wrinkles, giving the impression it hadn’t been freshly made. The beds were comfortable but the sheets were very odd. They had little balls on the sheets that felt like crumbs, but we inspected the beds and it was just part of the textile material. The pillows were firm enough and they did have extra which was great. Although the view was great, there were many beetles that kept coming into the room. The bathroom had good lighting, but the half-shower glass was ineffective—water from the hand shower sprayed all over the floor, creating a hazardous situation. While the bathtub was a good size, its worn and dated appearance detracted from the overall experience. They offered robes and slippers, but we only received one robe. Despite requesting an additional one, it never arrived. On the positive side, the check-in process was smooth, and the young man assisting us was very kind and fluent in both English and Bulgarian. The restaurant was a huge disappointment. The prices were high and the food quality was questionable. I ordered a mushroom soup that had zero actual mushrooms in it. It taste like a packet of soup flavor with water. The Caesar salad was awful. I do not understand how that was even a Caesar because the lettuce was not Romaine and the dressing was not a real Caesar dressing. The cheese was rubbery as well. They should just call it a dinner salad instead. The meatballs and kebabche were good according to my husband but later that evening he felt nauseous, since I didn't eat any we thought that was the culprit. Next morning we got up early and a staff member turned the jacuzzi on for us. It was nice but it wasn't as hot as I hoped. It was clean and it was a beautiful view though. All of the saunas were great, the spa area was 9 out of 10. The only other complaint was the check out process . There was a small confusion around owing additional fees, but we settled the extra occupancy fee upon check in. They were saying they did have record of it and we're trying to make us pay for it again. Eventually they found the paperwork but it left a bad taste in our mouths, like the horrible restaurant.
