    First off we would like to say that at the beginning we though were give the place about a 7 Unfortunately We just realized that we miss about 13 million kip!!! We arrived just now in Vientiane and noticed the money was missing from where we usually hide it When we talked about it to the owner he said he will talk to the workers and came back to us - said they say they didn’t take it and that there’s nothing to do about it, he will also not contact the police. We tried to persuade him to take further steps but he insisted of doing nothing. Now about the place We took the family room which was spacious, but the rooms which are the containers are feeling a bit creepy The showers could use a good renovation - stains of mold on the ceiling. One day we had 6 cockroaches in the shower! The toilet smells of mold Kitchen with no soap or towels Breakfast is very basic, you can only choose a variation of eggs Swimming pool with no area to sit around it It’s just a weird place and totally not worth the money

    If you have plan to visit Vangviang, we recommended this place for you. Good service, good staff and good place. There is pizza restaurant near this resort. It's delicious.

    It’s ashame to have to write such a review but after the experience we had, we couldn’t let other travellers find themselves in the same situation. The shuttle from the train station was only able to drop up around a 5 minute walk from the hotel. You have to walk across 2 bridges and along a dark, unlit road. We felt very unsafe during this with stray dogs barking and locals having a fire with music blasting. We arrived to Kong Resort at around 8:30pm. The man on the reception was very nice and accommodating, possibly the only positive I can think of. The resort is built out of old shipping containers which is a nice idea but in reality, isn’t that practical. We were shown to our room and at first glance it seems to be okay. The shower is located outside of the container is a slatted area. The water from the shower was very smelly, almost as if it was contaminated. The shower head was burst (Both the rainfall and hosed head). There was however a third small head that I used. The bedding had quite a few marks on the sheets, both duvet and liner. We found insects to be present in a lot of areas of the room also. No toilet roll was provided in the room. The surrounding area made us feel very uneasy and didn’t fill us with confidence for leaving valuables in the cabin. We cut our loses and searched for another hotel. We booked originally for 3-4 nights but didn’t manage to stay 1. We realised we had made the correct decision when leaving the resort and walking down the street, we were shouted at by locals and chased down the street by 2 aggressive dogs. One of our worst experiences so far during 2 months of travelling.
