    It’s not everyday you can stay in a palace with so much history. We were upgraded to a really large room with a bath BUT the water heater was too small for enough hot water to fill it, and it either leaked or emptied straight out on to the floor to drain into the shower drain so we didn’t get far with it. The toilet / bidet shower also dripped none stop which made the floor always wet so don’t wear socks in the bathroom. Give the water a good hour to get fully hot and you can get two showers out of it. Towels were clean and fluffy. No toilet roll being your own but put it in the bin not down the toilet. The rooms with baths so not have windows only fully closed window shutters. It was extremely cold the night we stayed and there was no heating but the bed was sensational. Thick mattress and extremely comfortable and king size. The room also had a sofa and comfy chairs. The wardrobe in the “dressing” area was cold. The smart TV is on some kind of common system so around 9pm someone turned over our channels in a different location until they worked out they were on a shared system of some kind and gave up. The EFTPOS is not available to international cards so take cash. We are now at the point where if it’s “pay at property” we’re not going to book it as it’s too much hassle in India to keep going to the ATMs. Even though this was the coldest night I’ve ever experienced in this part of Rajasthan we’d still recommend the hotel however, food choice was extremely limited - veg only - no alcohol and next to no choice.
