    I had been travelling from Paris and due to a delay on the metro arrived late at Bordeaux missing my ongoing train and the last that night so needed a nights stay. This isn't exactly at the Gare Saint Jean but about 5 mins north of the station but was able to book and stay that night. No complaints really a typical Ibis and a good night sleep.

    Pros: near the train station Cons: -The carpet is extremely dirty on the floor -The design of the shower makes the water easily spill out, and as such the floor of the bathroom has a permanent water damage bulge. -There is no proper mattress. It’s a very thin mattress topper placed on top of a board (roughly 3 cm or so), making it very uncomfortable. Due to this, it’s also not a standard twin sized bed but a smaller one. -AC does not work. You cannot set the temperature and the room is very stuffy due to poor ventilation. -The night staff is not very nice. Upon check in, they just gave me the key rather than telling me about Wifi password or allowing me to sign up for their loyalty program which I asked about. -The phone in the room does not work to call the reception.
