    German is not my mother tongue, and I have troubles pronouncing the letter "e". Therefore, people often do not understand me when I am talking about tea ("Tee" in German, which I tend to pronounce as "Tää"). When a waitress asked me in German what I wanted to drink during a dinner, I answered "Ich möchte grünen Tee." She did not understand what I might want. After repeting this several times trying to pronounce it as good as I could, she told me that they did not have such a thing. Maybe I am wrong, but I cannot imagine that she really had no idea what I might want and was not just rude to me on purpose. Eventually, the problem was solved by a German guy sitting next to me who told her that I probably meant "Tee".
