My 3-night stay at the Hotel Spahr was very pleasant. The hotel is old BUT BE CAREFUL, this does not mean badly maintained! In my room for 1 person, the beams were exposed, with beautiful curtains, all in an old-fashioned style. The cleanliness is excellent, and the room service does a great job every day. On the other hand, and I don't know if this is the case for all the rooms, but I only had one plug which was located at the entrance. Thus, none towards the bed and I could only find another by removing the plug from the TV (can this be improved if the hotel is old?). The shower pressure was also quite low and it didn't swivel to allow you to shower in the middle, you had to be practically against the wall. On the other hand, the breakfast included is PERFECT, a wide choice in buffet format that will delight everyone. As for the staff, the 3 gentlemen I met at reception were rather cold and spoke poor English, but fortunately the ladies in the rooms and at breakfast were very nice. In the end, I only spent the nights and mornings in the hotel, and I had no unpleasant surprises. At this price, I doubt you could find a more appreciable establishment in Stuttgart !
