If you're visiting the area for Las Pozas, this is a fantastic place to stay. It's an easy ten minute walk to las pozas itself and the edward James museum complex.
The hotel itself is also magical. It's set on a hill with rooms around the central pool and the mountain rooms clinging up the hillside. The views are beautiful and lush.
The rooms are clean and the beds are soft and comfortable. Water pressure is great, especially given the remote location.
All the staff were extremely helpful and kind, even with my terrible Spanish. They helped me catch my bus back to CDMX.
The food at the restaurant was great, especially the guacamole.
Things to be aware of: it is a 30- minute walk into the main town of Xilitla, and is steeply uphill most of the way. Having a car is an advantage, but not necessary.
It's in the forest, so there are creepy crawlies. If you can't cope with that, you probably should stay in a city. It's nothing to do with the hotel and everything to do with the location.
Hot water Isn't the best. It comes and goes. Again, to be expected in the location.
Highly recommended for a visit to Xilitla!
