I booked this property through Agoda because the photos looked clean, well-maintained, and presentable. The price was affordable, and as a solo female traveler visiting Chennai for work, I trusted the listing and completed the full payment before arrival.
When I reached the location, I was shocked. The building looked abandoned and poorly maintained. It looked nothing like the photos shown on Agoda. The only visible sign was an OYO board, and the entire place gave a very unsafe first impression.
At the reception, I submitted my Aadhaar card for verification and was handed the room key. No one guided me to the room. I had to find it myself.
The room I was given was completely unacceptable. The moment I opened the door, there was an unbearable foul smell. The bed looked filthy, as if someone had vomited on it and it had never been cleaned properly. The mattress, bedsheets, bathroom, and overall hygiene were in an extremely poor condition. The bathroom looked worse than a public restroom. I immediately left the room because I could not even stay inside for a minute.
After I complained, the staff offered another room in a different building within walking distance. Unfortunately, that building was equally bad. It was completely different from what was advertised on Agoda.
When I tried to take photos as evidence, the staff spoke to me very rudely and disrespectfully. Instead of addressing my concerns, they told me that if I didn't like the property, I should cancel the booking myself, even though my booking was non-refundable.
The entire experience left me feeling extremely distressed and unsafe. I was unable to stay at the property. I left immediately, spent some time at a nearby hospital to calm myself, and later booked another hotel at my own expense.
This is not just a bad hotel experience—it is a misleading listing and a serious safety concern, especially for solo women travelers. The photos on Agoda do not represent the actual condition of the property.
I request Agoda to:
- Investigate this property immediately.
- Remove or suspend this listing until it meets basic hygiene and safety standards.
- Refund my booking amount.
- Ensure that no other traveler, especially women, has to go through such a disturbing experience.
I have photos and evidence to support my complaint and am willing to provide them if required.

No proper facilities, in pictures hotel is shown very well but it is too dirty and too small rooms even AC is not working
