    Our room was gorgeous. The hotel has lots of local personality. My only suggestion is that you request a suite on an upper floor. No elevator on the first floor and the view of the river is obscured.

    Booked this hotel because it had wifi, it doesn’t. Also does not have any English TV and because it had laundry facilities available to guests. They aren’t. Booked an upgraded room. It’s not connected to the hotel. You have to go down the street, through an old wood door, across a dark dirt court yard, unlock a door to where there are apartments and then climb two flights of narrow stairs with your luggage. When He could see I wasn’t pleased as I didn’t feel safe he suggested he had another room in the main hotel the was better and he would give it to us for the same price. We are now in the attic with one tiny window and a treacherous up, down, back up stairs past 2 vacuums, over and around stairways were you have to turn sideways to get down the hallway. The helped carry luggage as there was no way we could have managed it. Oh and it’s 13 euro to wash and press 1 pair of pants. They offered to arrange a taxi to the trainstation for us $25 to $35 euro. The taxi to the hotel was $8. The location is great. Right on a canal and the view is of the famous Petite Venice bridge. The hotel has amazing curb appeal from the street. Just be aware it is very, very old and hard to get around in.
