My son and I stayed one night in order to attend the Night of Lights festival on Sept 5. Prior to arriving in Iceland, and sent the hotel a couple of questions. Eventually they were answered after trying a couple of times. When we checked in, the staff seemed to be unaware of the big music/cultural festival and fireworks- just a short walk away. I thought that was a bit strange considering it’s a hotel that serves tourists. Staff were polite though, the place was clean, and there was instructions at the front desk for calling a taxi and checking out. There was mostly no one at the front desk that I saw, but there was a number to call if I needed assistance. All in all, our experience was ok!

The beds were not decorated like the pictures, mine had a thin blue blanket and multi coloured couch cushion on the bed. The shower only had a hand soap dispenser for soap. When I arrived my room key was sitting on the front desk with my name on it for anyone to take which made me a bit worried about safety. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable, but it would more appropriately be called a hostel rather than a hotel. Realistically I would only pay *** per night to stay here, rather than the *** price. Additionally, the 8 minute drive to the airport cost $50.00 CAD each way, so I recommend skipping this hotel and just staying at a nicer one at the airport - it will end up costing you the same and you will be in a real hotel.

The picture looks decent, but definitely not a 3-star hotel. The room is bare, the TV doesn't work, the safe doesn't work, the window won't latch, the room smells of chlorine, the bathroom wall looks to be rotting with a new coat of paint, and the front door was left over without any reception manning it anytime. The check-in instruction is given only in Chinese, and the room cards were just left on the table in the reception area. Anyone can walk in and take them. Yes, it's close to the airport, and that's pretty much the only thing good about it.
