COCKROACHES IN THE ROOM. ROOM WITHOUT AIR CONDITIONING. NO HOT WATER. Tried to contact Agoda by phone, emai, WhatsApp. No answer. Terrible No costumer service. This was a nightmare experience for us.

Our nightmare of a stay started at check-in. We arrived early, around 11 and they informed us they had a room available but to check in early we would have to pay $25. Since we were planning to go out and have lunch anyway it didn't make sense and we decided we would just come back at 3pm. Big mistake. When we returned at 3pm the check-in line was huge. We got in line and some guy handed us a slip of paper with the number 12 on it not explaining anything. When it was our turn (we thought) he informed us the slip was our place in line and they were only on number 4. It was infuriating watching them check in groups of people of 5-10 rooms taking 20-30 minutes at a time. It took forever. An hour and a half later we were finally able to check-in and it took us 5 minutes. Absolutely absurd. The nightmare continued when we got to the room. I had paid extra for a room with an ocean view. The window to the room had absolutely no view of the water, it looked across to the other side of the hotel and got absolutely no sunlight. There was a dead cockroach on the bathroom floor. There was one outlet in the room and it wasn't next to the bed so there was nowhere convenient to charge our phones, or for me to plug in my cpap machine. The table between the beds was hanging on the wall by some screws and a strip of plywood and promptly fell off the wall. The next morning we went down for breakfast which was included in the room. It looked pretty good, chilaquiles, fruit, yogurt, chile verde and some other stuff. Coffee also included. I grabbed a plate assuming it was buffet style since it was setup as a buffet. Some woman made me a plate of chilaquiles with beans and handed it to me. I asked her to put on some of the scrambled eggs and she said no. I don't speak Spanish so I don't know what else she said. My wife likes to eat light so she got some fruit and some beans. As we were eating someone came up to inform us our breakfast only included the chilaquiles plate and we'd have to pay extra for the buffet since we'd both taken some fruit. Fine whatever, it's not like I could give the fruit back. The coffee was awful. After breakfast we went up to the room to change into our swim gear and went to sit by the pool. We each brought a water bottle. Immediately after sitting down a woman came up to us informing us we weren't allowed to have our own water, we had to buy it from the hotel. Did we want anything? No. That was the last straw. I booked an airbnb for the remaining two nights of our trip and we left the hotel without even asking for a refund. It wouldn't have been worth my time. I have traveled my whole life all over the world staying in places that are rich or poor, from hostels to five start hotels. This was, by far, THE WORST hotel I have ever stayed at. The staff all seemed miserable. They were inattentive, rude, and slow. The grounds are shabby at best. The pool was murky. The elevators are questionable. Do not stay here.
