Very quiet place with a nice view big balcony ! Staff are nice and friendly too, it’s some distance from city but I prefer to stay here because it’s less tourist and not noisy. We have free bus pass as well to go to the city from hotel. Homemade breakfast and it taste good

The hotel is situated above the Grindelwald town. Pros: - Great view especially in the morning. - Along the road, bus stop in front. - Has its own restaurant that offers breakfast and dinner (maybe lunch too). - Free breakfast available, normal breakfast choices, but good enough. Love the hot choco drink. - Decent customer service. ( Not the best but not worst). The lady at the restaurant during breakfast is lovely (at least to us). - The room is spacious with a couch and a table with 2 chairs. Basically, our room got a living area. The bathroom was also spacious. The blanket was so comfy. - Daily housekeeping. - Level 1 rooms can access a quite big balcony on the hotel's side. Some rooms may have their own balcony. Cons: - Last bus to the hotel is around 6.44pm (forgot if Monday it was around 7pm) , but that's it. If you rely on public transpo and missed the last bus, you need to walk to the hotel for almost an hour depending on the pacing. We were vigilant on the timing. - Restaurant is closed for dinner (and maybe lunch) on Mondays and Tuesdays. We learned the hard way. If arriving on these days later than 6.30pm, be sure to bring your dinner. - If worst comes to worst, the nearest place to eat is another hotel up ahead. (around 10-15 mins walk, depending on the pacing. Walking to this restaurant at night can be a bit scary (Swiss is safe but you can get paranoid) as it is not very well lit and quiet; limited to no houses along the way. It's an uphill walk, you will hear sounds from the river and silence. 🤭 And we had to walk inder the rain 🤣. - Reception maybe closed past 5pm (maybe on certain days only). We arrived 7pm and reception was closed, our key was hidden somewhere (cannot disclose where 🤣) - No lift, just staircase, so you need to carry your luggage (if you have). - Wifi can be slow on certain areas (which is understandable I think since we are on a higher ground?) We were on level 1, so the connection was unstable but I had my own wifi. But I heard from guests on higher level that wifi was really bad. - No hair dryer and no kettle in the room. Overall, it was a pleasant stay. I really love the view. The breakfast was also okay.

The most important thing to know about the hotel is that it is at the absolute end of the road in Grindelwald, and if you miss the last bus at 6-something. it's a one hour walk back, partly on roads with no pavements so it's quite dangerous at night. We couldnt stay out late in town because of this. Other things to note: Pros: I mean, the absolute best thing about the hotel is the view. It was crazy. We got the Eiger View room, and could sit on the balcony looking at the mountains for hours. It was truly incredible, and difficult to get if you're living in a more dense area closer to town. Absolutely breathtaking. Breakfast was ok, nice freshly brewed coffee and a selection of meat, yoghurt, cheese and toast. Cons The hotel certainly wasn't cheap, *** a night, about the same as other cheaper hotels in Grindelwald, but the rest are much nearer to town. Rooms were furnished to a basic extent, and internet was not stable. The waitress was very friendly to us, but a bit weird - complaining about other guests and immigration (she wasn't even Swiss herself..). Overall, I could stay here again. The views are well worth the trade-off, as long as you are mindful of the bus timetables.
