Hotel Barmoi

The staff were generally polite, but the overall level of professionalism and organisation could be improved. The front desk often seemed disorganised, with staff trying to deal with multiple guests at the same time rather than assisting people one at a time. The hotel facilities also appear to need refurbishment. The stairwell and room door have clearly seen better days, and the breakfast options were quite limited. There were also basic maintenance issues, such as a telephone in the room that wasn’t connected and therefore couldn’t be used. Unfortunately, the most concerning part of my stay was when the boiler in my room exploded in the morning, causing a very loud and frightening bang. The room subsequently flooded. What I found particularly disappointing was that, despite several people coming into the room, no one stopped to ask if I was okay or check whether I needed assistance. The focus seemed to be entirely on discussing what had happened rather than on my welfare as a guest. Overall, while the staff were polite, the hotel needs significant improvement in organisation, maintenance, facilities, and, most importantly, guest safety and care.
