Hotel Atlantic

I stayed here for two nights. I understand that this is a budget property and I was not expecting luxury, but unfortunately, the overall experience was below what I expected in terms of basic facilities, cleanliness and service. The room was quite small, although that wasn't really an issue for me as I was travelling alone. However, a few basic facilities were not functioning properly. The TV did not work, the AC remote was not working properly, and the bathroom had a shower but no proper showerhead. The room and bathroom could also have been cleaner. The toiletries provided were very basic and of poor quality, and there were hardly any proper toiletries available. One night, the water supply suddenly stopped, leaving me without running water. I had to use the drinking water provided by the hotel to wash my hands, even though the drinking water is charged separately. The breakfast experience was particularly disappointing. I had paid extra in advance for breakfast for both days. When I informed the reception, I was asked to show proof of payment, which I had no problem doing. However, what really bothered me was the attitude afterwards. The staff member literally said: “Are yaar, de do isko ek paratha aur chai.” That was honestly quite insulting. I had already paid for the breakfast. I was not asking for a favour or asking for free food. The way it was said made me feel as though I was being given something out of someone's pocket rather than receiving a service that I had already paid for. Unfortunately, the breakfast was then served on a very dirty tray, especially around the corners and edges. It was visibly unclean, and I ultimately couldn't bring myself to eat the food from it. I have stayed at several 3-star hotels before, including reasonably priced ones, and unfortunately this experience did not feel comparable to the standard I have experienced at other properties in the same category. I paid around ₹2,400 for two nights. While I understand that this isn't a very high price for a hotel stay, I still expected the basic facilities to be functional and the service and cleanliness to be at a reasonable standard. I don't intend this review to discourage anyone from staying here, but rather to share my genuine experience. I hope the management takes this feedback constructively and focuses on improving housekeeping, maintenance, cleanliness and staff interaction with guests. Addressing these basic things would make a significant difference to the overall guest experience.
