Honiara Hotel

The unit was clean and well maintained by house keeping staff. Reception and Admin staff seemed overwhelmed managing things. I did not find the care or service to be genuine, which was unfortunate. Staff like to ask nosey questions as if they are some authority. Just general not a welcome and supported feeling. Poor Tommy Chan is so old and frail now, seems he is being taken advantage of.

Staff were very helpful on all fronts. Kids loved the pool.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Rooms are spacious and have a private balcony. Good options for food in the hotel's restaurant. Breakfast is good

The people at the hotel were lovely. However, the room was filthy and smelly. The fridge was unplugged and leaking and was inefficient and smelly when plugged in. Two complimentary bottles of drinking water supplied at arrival, but subsequent bottles were $20 (Solomon Island Dollars) for a 1.5L bottle. Food hygiene at the hotel restaurant was appalling. For the buffet, food that should be hot was not kept hot, and food that should be cold was not kept cold. No drinking water provided with dinner. Due to limited eating options in the area, we tried the al a carte menu on a subsequent night. Pizza took almost 2 hours to arrive...during which time we saw a massive rat walking along a windowsill in the kitchen. Breakfast options were limited; cereal was stale. Fresh fruit was the highlight.
