    1. 5 mins walk from train station 2. 711 next door 3. Good selection of breakfast and supper 4. Friendly staff 5. Big and clean room 6. Free coffee, tea and snacks at lobby Nothing to complain at all. Will definitely come back. Note: no uber ride in the city. U can ask the hotel to call you a taxi

    I had 2 full days in Hualien. My guide Mr. Lee drove me around Hualien. I wanted to see the countryside. I am interested in the development of human society, so I travel around the world trying to understand what different people are about. I like to visit scenic areas, especially agricultural landscapes. The 2 great developments of human society were the Agricultural and the Industrial Revolution. I enjoyed staying at Hi Yes Hotel. It is close to the Hualien Train Station. The hotel has 13 floors and you can get a panoramic view of the area. Unfortunately the hotel gave me a 13th floor (highest level) with a building under construction right in front of my room, so I kept the curtains closed to avoid ugliness. Plus the building blocked off my entire window, so I did not even have a small side view. I had to go out of my room and use the hallway windows to see Hualien's beautiful mountains. So despite staying at the highest level in the hotel the view was useless. The room was comfortable but it could have been cleaner. I say that because the room and hotel are relatively new. The only good thing was the breakfast and dinner. I remembered reserving my room with breakfast which I paid for, but it included dinner also.
