The hotel is old, and the floors even creaked beneath the carpet, but it served our needs well. Its central location in Union Square made access to public transportation, restaurants, and attractions very convenient.
The room was basic but exceptionally clean (no microwave, mini fridge, or kettle provided). A simple breakfast of pastries and muffins was available each morning, and coffee was offered around the clock. The staff were efficient, friendly, and helpful throughout our stay. Considering its location, cleanliness, and service, the hotel offers excellent value for money.

Walked in with my bags, said hi to the guy on reception (the Asian or Mexican guy with bad skin), who just stared at me. No hello, how are you or anything. I had to do the talking. That's rude as far as I'm concerned. The Chinese receptionist was good, helped me when I needed my safe on! The room was clean, shower was hot, but the bed was hard & the springs were starting to poke through. Room 409. The last 2 blocks walk from Powell BART was uphill. Bear that in mind if walking with luggage.
