We read reviews talking about the difficulties of getting in the hotel b/c people didn't have codes, so we scoured our emails and even wrote two days before our arrival asking if we needed codes. No answer. We needed a code. Luckily, someone let us in the code-locked front door so we could get to the check in machine. It didn't matter. We called the number provided by Adoda, and I think I, then my wife, next my daughter, spent about six minutes spelling my name over and over and over again, until the poor Japanese man on the other side realized he did not work for the hotel we were in and provided us with a different phone number. Thank goodness for his patience or we might have had to sleep outside. I recommend that NO ONE books these "smart check in" hotels. Once we got in, things were acceptable, but the stress of getting in and the high price we paid was not worth it.

The hotel location was close to some tourist attractions. The room is spacious for family of four. It was self checked in so it's a little bit difficult but we finally made it

First, I couldn’t get into the lobby as the door is a security door and I had no pass code, or room number to call. Secondly, the automated check-in was useless as I’d already paid via Agoda. The guy on the end of the intercom told me I had to wait 5 minutes until 4pm before I could check in. At 4pm same issue! Could not use their automated system for the same reason. QR code on the screen don’t do anything either. New guy in the intercom told me I’d have to pay the 100¥ tax by credit card or find a local convenience store and pay there. Would not accept a 100¥ coin. Finally he sent me a code for the door lock to the room (which was fine as long as you didn’t mind an ice cold draft from the window above the bed) - no instructions on what code to use for the lobby door and no way of getting back in if went out to pay the tax. Worst check-in experience I’ve ever had world wide, let alone in Japan
