Gran Hotel Miramar

Fantastic location, easily walkable to restaurants, the beach, or local attractions. The hotel amenities were great, and the rooms were clean. I would definitely stay again.

A luxurious classic-style hotel, by the sea, with its own beach sector, a large swimming pool and a 10-minute walk from Malaga's old town - there is no alternative that meets the same conditions. The entire complex has been completely renovated relatively recently and everything is still in good condition. The interior of the rooms is not in the classic grand style, as one might expect from the exterior design of the building, but is either Arabic, Mediterranean or cozy classical style, depending on the room. Since the agent made a mistake when booking the room, we got a lower category room, but this room was also pleasant. Even the smallest room is of sufficient size. The Premier Atrium room has windows overlooking the courtyard and there is no view, but these rooms are quiet, because the street noise is heard in the rooms on the street side. I liked that the toilet is separate and has a door, but I didn't like that the toilet door opened inward and when leaving, you had to squeeze yourself into a corner to open the door. The air conditioner worked quietly, but I didn't like that the air conditioner blew onto the bed. We turned off the air conditioning for the night and luckily it wasn't too hot. High-quality care products, but many products have to be requested separately. Very high-quality shaving kit, which has to be requested extra. Considering the level of the hotel, the breakfast selection is not very rich, but everything that was offered was very high quality and tasty and the waiters are also very efficient. We only found out about the possibility of ordering something other than an omelette for breakfast when we left the last breakfast when we saw that the waiter brought Egg Benedict and other dishes made to order to the neighbouring table. We could have been informed about such an option. The hotel has a high-class restaurant and a rooftop bar with a nice view, where there is live music in the evenings. The pool was a good size and also suitable for a proper swim. The sun loungers are very close together, but thanks to this there are enough of them. Behind the pool fence is a road with busy traffic and at times the street noise is quite loud. The pool boy is top notch in his field, very efficient and good at communicating. We visited several much more luxurious hotels on this trip, where there were several people working at the pool, but here one pool boy was much more efficient than the entire team in other hotels. The beach has its own sector with high-quality beach chairs and towels and also a very good service, but I didn't really like the beach itself - it is a public city beach, where there were a lot of people (many young people), the sand was muddy and stained clothes and the water in the sea was murky. NB! The hotel's beach area is not directly in front of the hotel, but to the left of the hotel. There are two beach bars on the beach, one right in front of the hotel and the other (cheaper and simpler) to the left. The service of the hotel staff was very good, it feels like they have been trained thoroughly. Also, all the staff spoke good enough English, even the cleaners - in other regions of Spain, there are often problems with English language skills, including in hotels. Parking is relatively expensive, but the parking lot is underground and valet parking is available. Considering the location of the hotel and the general price level of the Cost del Sol, the price is relatively reasonable. The hotel organizes events very often and some of them can also disturb the guests staying at the hotel. There were events every night during our stay, but fortunately they were not noisy events and did not last long, they did not bother us.

Great staff & fantastic breakfast

Had booked 3 nights directly with the hotel and an additional night through Agoda, since hotel did not have the inventory. Amazing hotel. Super friendly reception staff. Very supportive Conceirge desk. Good variety for breakfast and overall cuisine. Housekeeping staff is really great. Takes good care of your room. Overall, very happy memories and highly recommended for Malaga.
