    Magnificent property and a great launching pad to explore the Historic City Center. The hotel is Old World Charm and is a must stop if only for a cocktail or dinner in the charming restaurant. Built in 1925, it has all the glamor of a bygone day but misses modern necessities you come to expect. At least in my room, air conditioning did not exist. A large floor fan and open windows were the substitute. The lovely square just outside the window is the free speach plaza, where local politicians and parties gather with bullhorns to outshout eachother. The nightshift road crew came on to jackhammer until 2 am, with a concert going on a Sunday night until about 1 am. If it were a cooler night where windows could be kept closed it would have been doable. Overall I really did enjoy my stay. The staff were delightful and went out of their way getting change for my taxy, opening breakfast eary, directing a safe walking tour, etc, but for some the noise would be difficult.

    This elegant gem of a hotel offers a superb and safe location, clean and confortable accomodations, and excellent services. No complaints -we were very happy. The staff was well trained and very responsive. Great free breakfasts and of course you need to try the pisco sour in the bar. Easy walking to most historic sights and many great restaurants as well as nightlife. You will feel right at home.
