I have very little positive to say about the hotel. We arrived at Geotel one hour after booking. Despite presenting our confirmation as well as our credit card receipt they denied that they have any relationship with Agoda. Even though they said that they have no booking they insisted we email copies of our passport but when asked for their Wifi they initially refused to give us Access because to logon you require a room number and of course they were denying our reservation. They eventually allowed us onto their network but repeatedly gave us the wrong address. I asked to speak to the manager and the front desk attendant told me she was the manager yet another woman came out and our booking mysteriously appeared. They refused to give us our room until 3:00 insisting that they were fully booked yet the parking and restaurant were virtually empty.
Ultimately the hotel was dated, inadequately heated and all for *** US????
I asked for an apology from management for our 2 hours of hassle and all she could muster was a very insincere nod.
I have been a full time traveller for 6 years and I can justly say that this experience ranks as the worst customer service I have received in the hospitality sector.

Last minute booking. Staff were good. We had a ‘junior suite’ and size was ok. But t was very hot and stuffy with no aircon. Also strong smell of cigarette smoke and some kind of chemical probably used to get rid of cigarette smoke. We opened the windows but more smoke came in. Also not sure how secure it was to leave windows open as security was high all over the town and no mosquito screens on the window. A good feature is that breakfast starts at 6am! Otherwise all as expected for a 2-3 star place. Furnishings tired. Maybe this is as good as it gets in Calama.
