    I must confess to some trouble getting in to this hostel - it is behind a security gate. They gave me a fob to make it open but it never worked - luckily there were plenty of people about to let me in. That's the only downside to Friends Hostel. The bed was comfortable, shared showers and toilets were clean and I didn't need to wait on others. There's a nice living area, complete with desks as well as more casual tables and chairs. The hostel's location turned out fine - not far from the buses to the railway station and airport, some very nice coffee shops nearby (I liked Caramel), as well as a craft beer bar.

    Very happy with this! It's located in a nice residential area with grocery stores and restaurants across the street. It's also on the Right Bank, very close to the Arbat but also a reasonably walkable distance from some left bank malls and sites. Everything is kept clean and orderly daily which made it comfortable the whole stay. Great hostel great city great people.

    Not easy to find the location. But the local people are very nice to help you find it. Not too close to city center but public bus wil get you there, so no worries. If you dont mind small rom then you are good to go to book this hostel.
