    What a little find. Now, it's not a 5 star resort - I'd hate that - and it's Africa. As it's Africa, power outages will happen, wi-fi won't be perfect; but Flame Tree has so much to offer a traveller. The rooms are set out in small bungalow type buildings. They are decently appointed, clean and quiet. The breakfast service on your patio is an excellent idea. Just get out of bed and sit listening to the day beginning with a coffee and a reasonable choice of foods. The beach-front area doubles up as sun lounger venue in the day and restaurant in the evening - sitting with a beer watching the sun go down over the sea has a lot going for it. And the food is a real strong point. Well cooked and flavoured and a choice between the a la carte menu and the daily specials. As a lover of fish, I was very well catered for - and my veggie wife had no complaints, either. Being able to walk straight out of the property onto the beach was a bonus, and the location near to the village centre made browsing for souvenirs, curios or going out for a coffee or a snack easy. Staff are friendly and pretty efficient and did their best to make the stay enjoyable. Overall, both my wife and I, both having spent a lot of our lives travelling extensively for work, were pleased we chose to stay there and would go back again. Neither of us can think of any real "cons" - certainly none that relate to the Flame Tree and are not just "it's Africa" issues. Recommend to anyone.

    Small hôtel with all conforts, on the beach front. The staff are always helpful and each bungalow is individually placed to maintain privacy in the lovely garden. The breakfast is served on your own patio which saves waiting around in a restaurant. The bar and beach restaurant is great and the lobster was amazing. A lovely way to spend à few relaxing days after a safari on the mainland.

    The hotel is in a great location. The honeymoon room was spacious but not breathtaking. It did have a nice balcony and sea view, though. We weren’t there for a honeymoon; it was just the only room available. We then moved to the basic rooms for the next two nights, which were very small. The air conditioning was old and gave me a cold. Agness, one of the staff members, was very kind and helpful. The hotel is beachfront and has sunbeds on the beach, so you can sunbathe in peace. The pool was clean and pleasant. Overall, it’s a decent place to stay. Restaurants are within walking distance along the beach. Definitely try Mamma Mia for a beer and pizza, and to escape the pesky beach boys.
