Essential by Dorint Interlaken

We are very happy with our stay at Essential by Dorint Interlaken and would highly recommend this hotel! I chose this hotel because it is new and has a modern style, and I’m so happy with my choice. The hotel is very modern, clean, and well maintained. The location is excellent, especially as it is right beside Interlaken West train station. When you step outside, there are plenty of restaurants, shops, and everything you need nearby. The room is on the smaller side, but I honestly didn’t mind because it is so nice, new, and clean. The shower is also very good. I was especially impressed with the hairdryer — it seems to be a newer model and dried my hair really quickly! I also like that the room has air conditioning. During our stay, the air conditioning was not very cold, so I’m not sure how well it would work during really hot weather. I was initially worried about the “two single beds put together” because I thought the bed might feel small or uncomfortable. But I was pleasantly surprised! The bed was actually a good size and very comfortable, and we slept really well. There is no fridge in the room, but this was not a problem for us. The hotel provides ice, and we could refill cold water from the bar. You can also get hot water from the bar, which was very convenient. The staff are also very nice and friendly, which made our stay even better. I also really appreciated that the hotel provides free bus and train travel within Interlaken. We didn’t get to use this benefit because we already had the Berner Oberland Pass, but it is a great benefit for guests who don’t have a travel pass. The breakfast was one of our highlights — so many options, and everything was delicious. I also really loved the thoughtful idea of having rock salt, lemon, lime, ginger and mint available at the bar. You can add them to hot water or cold water depending on what you prefer. I thought this was such a nice and refreshing touch, and something I really appreciated. I was especially happy that breakfast starts as early as 6:00 AM. This is really convenient because guests can have breakfast early and still head out for activities and sightseeing. We really appreciated this during our stay. I also requested a room away from the lift because I wanted a quiet room, but we were given a room close to the lift. However, I was pleasantly surprised because despite being close to the train station and the lift, we barely heard any noise from outside our room. This was really impressive! My only small complaint is that they provide only one pillow per person, and unfortunately, I found the pillows uncomfortable. Overall, I am really happy that I chose Essential by Dorint Interlaken. It is modern, new, clean, in an excellent location, with friendly staff, a comfortable bed, and a great breakfast. The early breakfast, free local transportation, and thoughtful touches like the infused water options are fantastic benefits. The hotel is quite expensive, so I think it would be even better if the room rates could be a little lower or more competitive. However, despite this, we had a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend this hotel. We would happily stay here again!

Located at the Interlaken West train station, it’s easy to access if you’re taking the train to Interlaken Ost. The breakfast was fantastic!

Hotel feels new and clean, breakfast was good. Location isn't the greatest as main station for all journeys and activities is Interlaken ost. No fridge in the room, pillows were awful.
