I go in to pay for my room, I had chosen the pay when i get there option, and i found they had already charged me for half the stay. Then I swipe my card and i am told it didn’t take so they have to swipe a different way. I get a bank notification the payment for the full stay went thru then the clerk tells me i never paid. I showed them my bank account and he said i was lying to get a free stay. At this point he shows me the declines because he has now drained my account of all funds. I’m told we can’t stay because we never paid. I’m flatly told it’s my problem not mine and that there is no manager to talk to. Finally someone does call the manager cuz i am loud and my partner is starting to swear. Then im told oh yeah you paid the clerk just categorized it wrong. Oops sorry. I was beyond excited to stay here. It’s the most expensive hotel in Newport and I’ve always wanted to go there. Never again. Also we get to our room and there is what appears to be blood on the ceiling and our sheets were dirty. All this after they blocked over a thousand dollars, more than the cost of our stay, and i didn’t have the money to go elsewhere. But no worries, they said I’ll get my money back in 5-7 days.
