El Bien Hotel Tagaytay

I am satisfied with my experience here :)

Place is very cozy and staff are friendly and accommodating.

We decided to book this hotel due to the rsting. It's a very small boutique hotel, with only total 12 rooms. We had a family room with a queen bed and 2 single beds inside the room. The room iwas very clean, the bathroom as well very clean with fresh towels. Few of downsides which hopefully the owner can improve: 1. The hotel room only provides 2 small bottle waters, while there were 3 of us, adults. Thus, in the room, they only provides 2 teabags, no coffee. 2. The staff didn't clean the room automatically, we had to put the sign, but it's not informed before. When we arrived back after almost a whole day away, the room was not yet cleaned. We had to call, and even as they cleaned, they didnt replace the water bottles, nor the tea bag. 3. Breakfast was provided and we had to choose the night before what we'd like to have. But very minimal, like only 2 pieces if ham, with 2 slices bread and eggs. They provided coffee, but that's it, wld be nice to have fruits and juice and options of tea aside from coffee. Nothing much to add, and with the pri e of the room, it's a good service for the customer. Staff are friendly though and helpful, so that should be kept.

This is a very clean boutique hotel. I would give five stars for cleanliness. This was the reason I booked here. My wife is pregnant and so cleanliness was especially important. Upon arrival I was informed that my room, which was secured online with CC on file, had been double booked. The staff was responsive and offered an "upgrade" to a family room. It was Valentines Day so a family room wasnt ideal in that it feels less intimate. Still, they made an effort and we appreciated that. When my wife and I got to the room we discovered our WiFi wasnt working. We called down to reception. They said it was due to high winds. Just after hanging up we discovered the TV was busted. We were on our way out for dinner so we let the reception know about the TV upon exit. When we returned we were greeted at the front office. They let us know the TV could not be repaired or replaced. They apologized and offered us wine and food. We had just come back from dinner and my wife is visibly pregnant. We declined. Back up at the room my wife was dissatisfied. We called down to reception to ask for the wine and coffee. The phone stopped working. Someone from the front office came up. They took our request and brought two glasses of wine (not a bottle?) and two small cups of instant coffee pre-made. The coffee was cold. The creamer, which was also instant, will not melt in cold coffee. My wife heated it in the kettle provided. Why not give us the sachet so we could make the coffee fresh and hot? Idk? It's starting to feel like a bad comedy at this point. We went to bed. I felt restless so I got up to shower. Guess what? The shower didn't work. It was making a loud gargling sound. I went back to bed at a loss for words and after shutting the valve off to kill the noise. To their credit the hotel was nearly spotless. Though, there was a rusted old bus in the parking lot that should be discarded. It took up half the lot and it's the first thing a guest will see. The staff was responsive, but so much went ary in just one night and the responses fell short too. The breakfast was small, simple and satisfying at least. Though, my wife complained it was too simple for a hotel charging so much. Given the price of the hotel and the experience I have had.. I will not return and would not recommend this hotel.
