Domaine de Divonne Hotel

We stayed for 4 nights during a recent heatwave and had mixed feelings about our experience. On a positive note, the free airport shuttle service is very convenient, and the service from the housekeeping and reception teams was excellent—they were helpful and professional throughout our stay. (We didn’t dine at the hotel, so I can’t comment on the food). However, the room was disappointing. The air conditioning was ineffective, making the room uncomfortably hot during the heatwave; frankly, opening the window provided more relief than the AC. The minibar also struggled to keep drinks cold. Other points of concern: Safety: The bathtub was extremely slippery—I nearly fell a few times. Walk-in showers would be a much safer choice. Comfort: The queen bed felt quite small for two people, and the curtains are not blackout, so expect to be woken up very early by the sun. Tech: The TV is outdated and lacks support for streaming apps. Overall, while the staff and the free shuttle service are highlights, the rooms are in need of modernization to be comfortable, especially during the summer months.

I booked a room for my friends over for a visit . They were extremely happy ( was a surprize for them ) The room was a good size a really big bed and was really comfortable .In the room was a nespresso machine which was really appreciated :A great place to stay.

The swimming pool is closed as of October 1st that I couldn’t enjoy the pool but it looked very inviting. It is a reason for revisiting this hotel. SPA was clean and comfortable. Room was spacious and had charm of previous decades if not century.

Unfortunately, my experience at this hotel was very disappointing, and several important aspects of the stay were well below what I would expect from a hotel of this category. Location: The location of the hotel is generally good, and the surrounding area is pleasant. Unfortunately, this was one of the few positive aspects of our stay. Room & Comfort: The air conditioning in the room was not working properly, making the room uncomfortable, particularly during the summer. The bed was another major issue. The mattress was clearly worn out and visibly sagging, most likely from extensive use over time. It had lost its proper shape and support, making it noticeably uncomfortable to sleep on. Between the poor air conditioning and the condition of the mattress, getting a comfortable night's sleep was difficult. Cleanliness: The cleanliness of the room was also disappointing. While the bathroom itself was clean, the room was not properly cleaned, as can be seen in the attached photos. This was not the standard of cleanliness I would expect from a hotel at this level. Wi-Fi & Facilities: The Wi-Fi was extremely poor and unreliable. This was not simply an inconvenience — it actually disrupted my work, as I needed a stable internet connection during my stay and was unable to use it properly. Service & Problem Resolution: What made the situation particularly frustrating was the way these issues were handled. I raised the problems with the hotel supervisor, Philip, including both the air-conditioning and Wi-Fi issues. I was informed that there were no technicians available during the weekend who could address your problem. At the end of our conversation, Philip essentially told me: “This is France; we don't have technicians working during the weekend!.” I found this response very disappointing. Technical problems can happen at any hotel, but guests should not be expected to simply accept them because it is the weekend. If a hotel is operating and accepting guests during the weekend, there should be a reasonable way to deal with essential service problems, particularly air conditioning and internet access. I would have expected the hotel to either resolve the problems, provide an alternative room where these services were working properly, or offer another appropriate solution. Unfortunately, no effective solution was provided. Overall Experience & Value for Money: The combination of poor room cleanliness, an uncomfortable and worn-out mattress, inadequate air conditioning, unreliable Wi-Fi that affected my work, and the lack of technical support had a significant negative impact on our stay. The location may be good and the bathroom was clean, but these positives were unfortunately outweighed by the problems we experienced. Considering the price paid and the level of service expected, I do not believe the stay represented good value for money. Overall, this was a disappointing experience, particularly because several basic aspects of a comfortable hotel stay — cleanliness, a comfortable bed, air conditioning, reliable internet, and effective support when something goes wrong — were simply not at an acceptable standard.
