Guest Feedback We had high expectations of Hotel Navis and, while there were certainly some very positive aspects to our stay, overall we felt that the experience did not consistently meet the standards we would expect from a five-star hotel. Room We stayed in room 101. Do not choose a room on the first floor bd especially on 100-103, these rooms are the most noisy. The room itself was very clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. Think premier inn with a sea view and very narrow balcony. However, there were several issues that we felt should be addressed. The room was particularly noisy. Sound from the lobby, bar and restaurant travelled through the building and echoed up the stairs, with noise beginning as early as 6am and continuing until around 10.30pm. Unfortunately, this significantly affected our ability to relax and sleep. The balcony was directly above the restaurant and terrace, meaning that conversations and general noise from below could be heard very clearly. As a result, the balcony did not provide the peaceful and relaxing experience we had anticipated. There were also a number of maintenance and room-detail issues: the curtains did not close fully as the height of the ceiling makes it impossible to close at the top, the sink plug was broken, and there was mould behind the bathroom door. The pillows were also rather lumpy and could benefit from replacement. There was no mirror above the dressing table and no nearby sockets, which made the area rather impractical. We were also surprised that only one bottle of water was provided on arrival and was not replenished during our stay. For a hotel of this standard, we would expect complimentary bottled water to be refreshed daily. Breakfast Breakfast was one of the highlights of our stay. There was an excellent choice, with a very good buffet as well as an à la carte selection. However, service was somewhat inconsistent and sporadic. Helga deserves particular mention as she was consistently friendly, attentive and efficient. Restaurant Unfortunately, our experience in the restaurant was disappointing, and this was one of the main reasons we did not choose to dine there again. On our first evening, the fish was overcooked and the food was served lukewarm. Service was also very slow. When we ordered wine, we selected a bottle but were initially served just one glass, and it took a considerable amount of time before anyone returned to ask whether we required more. We did enjoy the burrata from the lunch menu on one occasion, so we returned a few days later specifically intending to have it again. We were given menus and only when the waiter came to take our order were we told that there was no burrata available. With only three dishes on the lunch menu, we were disappointed that no alternative was offered. We specifically wanted something light and less expensive rather than ordering from the main menu. The food we eventually chose was acceptable, but the service was again very slow. Unfortunately, the interaction with an older member of staff when our plates were being cleared was particularly disappointing. My husband politely mentioned that he was disappointed that the burrata was unavailable. The response was curt and rather dismissive, along the lines of it not being the hotel’s problem if the delivery had not arrived. Approximately ten minutes later, after we had finished eating, she returned to tell us that the burrata had now arrived and asked whether we wanted it. Given that we had already eaten, this was obviously no longer of any use. The manner in which this was handled felt unnecessarily sarcastic and left us quite taken aback. Pool and Sea Platform The pool area itself was generally very clean. However, we noticed the same wet towels left on the swimming platform and beach for several days, which did not give the impression of the level of attention to detail expected at a five-star property.
