    We recently spent a wonderful night at D Hoek Country Hotel to celebrate my wife’s birthday, and it was everything we could have hoped for and more. From the moment we arrived, the entire team made us feel truly special and welcomed. The staff were outstanding — from the talented chef who prepared delicious meals, to the attentive managers and friendly waiters. Even though it was a quiet evening, they went out of their way to engage with us, ensuring every detail was perfect. There are too many wonderful people to name individually, but each one contributed to creating such a warm and memorable experience for me, my wife, and our family. Everything about the place is fantastic — the atmosphere, the service, the food, and the overall feeling of care and hospitality. We loved every moment and can’t wait to return. D Hoek Country Hotel has definitely earned a special place in our hearts. Highly recommended — thank you to the whole team for making our celebration so special! ❤️

    Given the property’s reputation, stated standards, and the nightly rate of approximately R5,000 per room — in addition to R970 per person for Christmas lunch — the experience fell short of what one would reasonably expect from a five-star establishment. While the estate itself is beautiful, the accommodation, service execution, dining standards, and spa experience were inadequate.
