Hotel has nice gathering areas in lobby and outside looking at marina and couldn’t be better situated amongst all the nature preserves and walking paths, plus its proximity to AMI makes it a very easy drive. But my room was pretty beat up. In particular, the bathroom had stained caulk and the sink never drained properly, which meant the sink was always dirty and gross.
But hey, the air conditioner worked, the pool area was great, the breakfast was good, and the location was absolutely perfect.

My wife and I finally had opportunity to return to Anna Maria Island since the hurricane and stayed at the Compass hotel. The hotel location is perfect for whatever activities you want to engage in on and off the island. We had several meals at the hotel restaurant where bartender/server Ashley was absolutely fabulous in taking care of us and her other customers. She makes multitasking look so effortless. Michelle at the reception desk was awesome in guiding us on the ins and outs of what to do and easily resolved any questions we had, just a wonderfully sweet and caring person. Manager Chris was engaging each day with us, other guests and the staff; you can see the teamwork everyone puts in to make their guest feel comfortable and stress free. We will definitely return to the Compass Hotel on our next visit to the island.
