Commodore Hotel.

Great hotel with an excellent location and helpful staff.

The hotel was in a good location - 5 mins from Lancaster Gate tube station. The rooms were nice and the bathroom was SPOTLESS! The only downside was the Americans in the room next to me who were really loud. So the hotel should invest in soundproofing the rooms abit.

Small room but great location. Walk to Hyde Park or the tube station.

The Good: The staff were friendly enough, and the shower was excellent - hot and very powerful. The building’s exterior is beautiful, but unfortunately, that’s where the "4-star" experience ends. The Bad: We stayed here for our 5th anniversary and were deeply disappointed. The Room: The "double bed" was actually two singles pushed together. The uncomfortable gap down the middle made it impossible to sleep close to my partner, which was upsetting given the occasion. The pillows were lumpy and the sheets felt stiff and scratchy, like hospital linen. Cleanliness & Quality: The carpets were grubby throughout the building. Small details like single-ply toilet paper and only one bed side table made the "4-star" rating feel completely unearned. The Noise: There was a relentless, loud humming noise all night (likely building machinery) that sounded like a motorcycle idling outside. It made sleep nearly impossible. Service: While the concierge was polite and came up to check the noise, they couldn't move us. Being handed earplugs as a "fix" for a noisy room on an anniversary stay is not acceptable. Verdict: This hotel relies on its grand facade and location, but the actual guest experience is dated and poorly maintained. If you are looking for romance or a good night's sleep, I would look elsewhere.
