    Our first night at the hostel where we booked by mistake because we confused it with a resort that has the same name. The hostel is VERY basic. However, we met a very charming couple who also stayed there, where the Thai lady was extremely kind and helpful. While she - her name is Om - does not officially work there, she helped us with all the communication with the ever absent owner and his burmese employee who speaks neither English nor even Thai (!). Thank you so much, dear Om, you turned a nightmare into a memorable experience!

    The dorm I stayed in was very clean and I had it all to myself. There is a balcony where you can sit and enjoy. The location is close to the pier, but 4 km from the part of Koh Phayam where most tourists go. However, there are some really nice restaurants on this side of the island though super windy and not so beach friendly. This can all be solved by renting a scooter of course. The room has places to hand some clothes and drapes on the bed for privacy. The only thing is the bathroom is behind "half wall" so it is not closed off properly, which means not a lot of privacy considering the room is for 4 people. Really liked staying here though, I did not interact much with the staff due to their limited English and they are not present much at the hostel.

    OK, mid February the island was fully booked. This seemed to be the only option left to extend our stay on Koh Phayam ... We misstook the hotel with a resort that has the same name. The hostel is VERY basic. Toilet was leaking and the tap on the sink was loose. No warm water. *** for the Air-conditioned room seemed way too much.
