The price is outrageous. There is one building that is nicer but I got one in Fox. Not clean; no housekeeping; no temperature control. One night it was freezing and my hand outside covers was stiff. I guess they fixed it because second night heat blasting and had to open windows! Staff less than helpful-Elijah ran a geothermal power tour and gave brief descriptions and couldn’t answer questions. Then holds his hat out for tips. Chef probably came from McDonald’s—soup not served with crackers or rolls.
Loads of day tours at night to see the Northern Lights so noises constant.

Out of the two nights, I was really there for Travel night and a half due to the plane was came in late. The night that I should’ve gotten a lot of sleep, they put a family above me with kids and I could not sleep and I was frustrated. I was all stressed out. I didn’t find the staff to be very friendly at that time concerned with my needs and I knew I was going be driving a lot the next day. They moved me to another room which meant that I was going to lose more sleep. I needed that sleep and slept less than four hours. Otherwise, the facility is excellent, the Hot Springs was wonderful and was able to see three moose and a baby. The was staff okay.

Chena hot springs is a full resort with several lodging options and dining options. They have multiple activities to enjoy beyond the hot springs. It is a long drive on icy road to get to, but the point of a vacation is to get away from the daily grind.

I would NOT recommend staying here in the summer. Especially if your looking for a romantic night with a partner. My suggestion, if your visiting chena in the summer, just bring a tent and enjoy the nature.
The room was cute but extremely hot and stuffy. The beds were hard. And the bathroom smelled terribly of mildew.
As far as things to do. Theres not much. Bunch of old rusty equipment ( not my thing ) horses are only available on certain days, ice lounge is only open certain hours, the "cafe" was more like a run down coffee stop with over priced niknaks...
I could see this being a cool place in the winter when everything's covered in snow but idk about making the 45min drive with no service just to go sit ina smelly slimey pool.
