    The room was great for its value, it was a tad bit older, the TV didn’t work however I didn’t come to Charlotte to watch tv. Location was prime!!! The staff was very unfriendly, especially the woman that worked over night from Friday into Saturday. It was almost as if I was interrupting her phone time by asking a question about noise coming from another building. It seemed argumentative and I ended up avoiding conflict and went to sleep.

    I had an exceptional first experience at Charlotte’s, thanks entirely to Ruth. She embodies what hospitality should be—warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. She made me feel valued as a guest. However, my subsequent visits revealed a stark contrast. When I requested a reasonable accommodation regarding deposit arrangements for my frequent check-ins, Jasmine was unable to think flexibly about the solution. True hospitality requires staff to go beyond rigid policies and consider the guest’s actual needs. What troubled me more was the morning staff’s behaviour. Rather than focusing quietly on guest service like Ruth does, they asked overly personal questions and gossiped about colleagues. This unprofessional dynamic felt invasive and created discomfort. The difference is clear: Ruth understands that hospitality means prioritising the guest experience over enforcing rules. The other staff seemed more concerned with protocol than with genuinely serving me. It’s disappointing, because Ruth showed what Charlotte Suites could be consistently, but the rest of the team didn’t measure up.
