I really enjoyed my stay here and would definitely consider staying again.
The hotel is located right in the heart of the shopping area. It may be a little far from the airport bus stop, but since we only traveled to and from the airport twice during our trip, we decided that being closer to the shopping areas was more important for us — and it was absolutely worth it.
There is a 7-Eleven right next to the hotel entrance, which was incredibly convenient. Just behind the hotel, you can find I’m donut, Gong cha, and WACCA Ikebukuro. A short walk takes you to many more shopping areas and trendy spots. It really feels like a lively area for young people.
On the main street in front of the hotel, there are also plenty of major shopping destinations, including PARCO, Seibu, LABI, Don Quijote, and Bic Camera, which is practically right next to the hotel. With so many department stores, electronics shops, convenience stores, restaurants, and cafés all within walking distance, everything you need is already around you. It is very easy to walk around, shop, and find food with lots of choices.
Ikebukuro Station is also extremely convenient, with almost every major train line you might need, making it easy to travel around Tokyo.
Check-in & Hotel Facilities
Check-in was fast, easy, and convenient. You simply take the elevator to the lobby level to check in.
There is also a self-service area where you can pick up personal amenities, including simple Japanese-style pajamas. The hotel has a coin laundry with washing and drying machines. It costs ¥1,000, and there are three machines available. There are also free ice and hot/cold water dispensers, which were very convenient.
The Room
I really liked the layout of the room.
Although the room is small, the way the bed and desk are positioned leaves some space in the middle where you can open and organize your luggage one piece at a time. For me, this is much better than having a room where there is not enough space to open your suitcase at all.
The room and décor may look a little dated, but I personally didn’t mind. I actually found the room comfortable and practical.
When you enter the room, there is a small open area near the door with a clothes-hanging space. It isn’t huge, but it isn’t too small either, and it was enough to hang our clothes comfortably. The room also provides an odor-removing spray, hangers, a shoehorn, slippers, a hairdryer, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash.
There is also an air purifier in the room, and the air conditioning can be adjusted. The AC was surprisingly quiet — so quiet that it almost felt like it wasn’t running, even though the room was very cold because I had set the temperature quite low!
One of my favorite features was the large window right next to the bed. In the morning, I enjoyed looking outside and watching people walking along the street below. It gave the room a nice connection to the lively atmosphere of Ikebukuro.
Overall
Overall, I really enjoyed my stay here. The location is the biggest advantage — it is convenient, surrounded by shopping, restaurants, cafés, convenience stores, and transportation options.
The room may not be the newest or most modern, but it is practical, comfortable, and well-equipped. For me, the excellent location and convenience more than made up for the slightly older décor.
I would definitely stay here again.
One Security Concern
There is one thing I think the hotel could improve, and it is related to security.
The entrance on the ground floor has an automatic door that anyone can walk through without using a key card. The elevators also do not require a key card to operate, meaning that non-guests can enter the hotel and take the elevator to any floor.
In practice, guests only need to use their key card once — to unlock their own room.
I understand that this may be convenient, but from a security perspective, I think it would be safer to have a key-card access system on the elevators. For examp
