Needed a place to stay near Yosemite with my 10 year old son. It’s very close to downtown Yosemite and the drive isn’t nearly as hard (less winding roads and cliffs). Room was very nice and clean. It looked recently remodeled. It’s right across from a beautiful spot on the Merced river (one of the nicest spots we saw on the whole trip). There’s a nice big beach with sand. They have a big restaurant (food was OK .. nothing special and it was very crowded—took about 40 minutes to get basic chicken tenders and fries). Staff was OK. We had just came from another hotel in Oakhurst where we loved the staff (they were extremely friendly and accommodating) and food was amazing…so we were a little disappointed. Everything else besides those things was great! So bring your own food and expect staff to be in unenthusiastic. The hotel workers were super nice and helpful, it was just the reception /front desk / restaurant wasn’t very warm. Pools were great and property is beautiful.

It wasn’t good value for money at $*** per night. The bedsheets and pillowcases were heavily worn and didn’t feel very clean. I found a few hairs on them. The staff later gave me replacements, but the new set was in similarly poor condition, and one of the replacement sheets had two clearly visible stains.

The location is great. The lodge is kind of old, but they try to keep it clean. We stayed in a junior suite with two queen/twn beds in one room and one stow away bed in the living room. The beds were comfortable. We stayed for two nights and we expected some house cleaning in between those days. But the house cleaning did not happen. The front desk people are accommodative and helpful. The restaurant is expensive, but can be expected. The 3 stars for the kitchen and bathroom water service.
