    4th time staying at Canareef and honestly this visit left us quite disappointed 😕 One thing I’ve always noticed at other resorts is how much they value and appreciate repeater guests, they make you feel welcomed back, remembered, and at home. Unfortunately, Canareef really lacks that touch. The guest relation management honestly felt very poor There was no sense of recognition at all despite this being our 4th stay. Even housekeeping refills did not seem properly considered for a group stay ,which was surprising. Small details and attentiveness really matter in hospitality. Toilet paper rolls not kept , Three of us had to manage from one roll. Coffee and tea not refilled. That being said, I really want to appreciate *** and *** 🙌 Their kindness, attitude, and genuine care truly put a band aid over several bad experiences we faced during the stay. Staff like them are what make a difference 👏✨ Also… can we talk about the jet ski prices because WHAT 😳 10 minutes for USD 120 and 30 minutes for USD 200?! That’s literally competing with room prices 😭 Where is the pricing sense honestly? Canareef has beautiful potential and we genuinely keep returning because we love the island itself, but guest experience and management seriously need improvement, especially when it comes to loyal returning guests.

    The sunrise rooms we stayed were spacious. Buggy service is quick and efficient to all parts of the island. The beach is very accessable because of the buggy. They also have bicycles. The buffet food is very good. Nice spread.

    My recent stay at Canareef Resort was my third time visiting as a guest. I choose to spend my vacations in Maldivian resorts because I value the peaceful environment, quiet nights, and the serenity of the beaches our islands offer. As a Maldivian, I appreciate being able to enjoy these experiences within my own country. A guest should never feel underestimated based on nationality. Unfortunately, during my stays at canareef there , has been a noticeable difference in how guests are treated. Although this issue appears to have improved slightly compared to previous visits, the service discrimination is still present. Guests who choose to spend their holidays here regardless of where they come from deserve the same standard of service the resort promotes. I would like to highlight Mr. Futha from the housekeeping team, who demonstrated excellent hospitality. He handled my concerns professionally and showed the level of attentiveness that truly reflects resort-level service. Similarly, Mr. Ziyad from the F&B team stood out for his more attentive and professional manner. Unfortunately, apart from Mr. Ziyad, most of the waiters & F&b staff I encountered showed very little engagement with guests. There was often no eye contact, greeting, or even a simple smile, which made the interactions feel unwelcoming. Even a small gesture such as a smile can make guests feel acknowledged, yet this basic element of hospitality seemed to be missing. On several occasions when requesting something from the waiters, the response was simply a nod with no verbal acknowledgment or expression, which made it unclear whether the request had actually been heard or understood. In addition, when requesting items such as cutlery, they were sometimes placed on the table in a pile rather than properly arranged. These small details matter in a hospitality setting and reflect the level of professionalism expected at a resort. However, I cannot say the same for the rest of the housekeeping team. Despite being registered as a VIP guest, the housekeeping service did not meet expected standards and certainly did not reflect the level of service the resort claims to provide. Canareef has great potential due to its natural beauty and peaceful environment, but consistent service standards and equal treatment of all guests are essential if the resort wishes to maintain credibility as a hospitality destination.
