We recently visited this facility. First of all its name is "Rosy Pelican Tourist Complex" and its a govt owned property.
Pros
1. Adjacent to Sultanpur National Park
2. Big open gardens inside. The deluxe rooms have their private big lawns too.
3. Peaceful and minimal (old govt guest house)
4. Road touch property (Reaching is very easy, cabs available easily)
5. Can order food from near by sectors of gurgaon (Nearest restaurant is 7 km +)
6. The staff is helpful. but being understaff, they also fall short of meeting customer expectations sometimes. Not their fault, actually.
Cons
1. Heavily understaff (just 5 people managing all operations, 20 positions vacant)
2. Rooms aren't maintained properly (damp wall patches)
3. Room facilities are very basic even in deluxe room (AC, Fridge, 2 glasses with kettle, TV, Wardrobe in wall, That's all) No electric kettle
4. Enough bed lining is provided (Bed cover, 2 blankets, 2 pillows & a razai), but you can easily find stains on them and they have musty smell. I guess because of lake nearby.
5. Dining hall is good but managed with help of local cook. So better order desi items. We ordered chinese and were disappointed.
6. No direct phone line to this guest house. You are in constant worry whether your online booking will be honoured or not.
Apart from it, When we first entered our room and checked our bathroom, we found a torn bath towel. Upon complaining, it was immediately replaced and the housekeeping cum restaurant guy acknowledged his mistake too. The intercom wasn't working. But as we had come for a "no disturbance' break, we didn't mind.
The classic rooms are smaller and 4 in number and deluxe rooms are 2 in number. Rest of the rooms on property are abandoned.
I wouldn't mind going back for the peace and proximity (to sultanpur national park) it offers.
Overall, not a bad place to go.
However, Haryana tourism must do something about it. Its a great opportunity just wasted.
