    We arrived before reception hours were over only to find a note that they had left early and guests were to call them at a New Zealand number. Since we are American and have US phones, we did not know how to phone a New Zealand number. If a guest had not exited the property while we were trying to figure out what to do, and let us borrow her phone, we would have been sunk. We had prebooked and paid. I don't know why they couldn't contact us directly when they decided to leave early and tell us how to get the key, rather than putting the burden on us. It was very distressing, especially since they already had been paid.
