Terrible experience. Many problems. Long story. The listing had great photos. Rooms looked really nice. Price was surprisingly low with regard to comps. I took the chance. What a disappointment. For the price, compared to nicer hotels in the area, it looked alright, but: - The room was very old and tired looking. Beat up and somewhat rickety furniture with misaligned doors looking like it was from the 1980’s. - They only provide 2 towels, so I called down for a couple more and they told me there was a 150 PHP charge per towel. I wasn’t happy, but said okay, thinking they would just take it out of the cash deposit they made me pay at check-in. A young guy brought them up and I gave him a 200 PHP tip. A little later the room phone rings and the desk clerk said the towels are 150 and I did not give the boy enough money. I said it was a tip, and she said 2 towels total 300 PHP and I said that was fine, just add it to my room total, and she said I had to pay immediately. She sent the kid back up to collect. - The way the bathtub/shower was set up in my room, there was no way to take a shower without the floor being, literally, flooded. The towels I just paid extra for were now on the floor, completely saturated, so we could even use the bathroom at all. I called maintenance up to check it out and they said a plumber would “fix it” the next day. o Update: when I first reported this they seemed totally baffled and couldn’t believe this happened to me. After writing this I looked at other reviews and found others have had the same experience here. If other rooms have the same janky shower/tib setup I have, it’s no surprise. - I use a CPAP for my sleep apnea, so need to plug it in next to the bed so the air hose can reach…. Naturally, the power outlet next to the bed is malfunctioning, and the next nearest outlet was across the room behind the TV stand, so I had to pull the TV stand away from the wall and run the cord across the room and set the machine on the bed (not a table) just so I could get some sleep. - The I asked them for a new room but they said none were available. If the place is “full”, why do I not see anyone in the lobby or the restaurant? Whatever. - When no plumber had come to the room the next day and my bath/shower was still flooding the room I told them I needed more towels, but didn’t think I should have to pay for them. The building engineer who came to the room the night before came and vouched for the problem and the clerk said they would bring me more towels. I ended up asking them if they had a floor squeegee so I could push the water toward the floor drain so I’m not soaking up a pool of water with the next towels, and they went and found a cheap little window squeegee on a long handle. It did help, but I didn’t like that I had to keep squeegeeing their floor over their problem. While squeegeeing I discovered that this has obviously been a problem for a long time due to water damage in not so obvious places. They have bigger problems….. - I walked down the street to 7-11 to get some snacks and drinks for the night. I wasn’t thinking when I bought my date bottled beer until I got back to the room and had nothing to open the bottles with. Because the restaurant in the lobby also has a bar with booze and stuff in plain site, I went down and help up 200 PHP and asked if I could “rent” a bottle opener. They looked at me like I was crazy and said “no, we don’t have a bottle opener”….. I walked back down to 7-11 and bought 2. On the way back through the lobby I dropped one on their desk and said, “there. Now you have a bottle opener.”. - I’m on my 3rd day here. I went to the lobby restaurant to have some breakfast. It was too late for the buffet, so I was seated at a table in the empty restaurant and looked at the menu. The staff were all standing around talking to each other and no one was paying any attention to me. I waited and waited and looked at them, but no one came over.
