Apart'hotel Ajoupa

My 24 year old daughter and I booked this hotel based purely on reviews, we wanted somewhere central in a safe area and most importantly must be clean and it delivered on those but when booking we thought we had booked a room with a balcony and that’s what the photo showed, once we arrived they couldn’t find our booking but had a key put aside with my name on it, so that was weird but the staff member was apologetic and had said to pop down in the morning to get our room changed as the office had just closed as we arrived. Once in our room there was of course no balcony and the tiniest of bathrooms I have ever seen in my life, so small there was no where to put the bottle of shower gel, it sat on top of the taps and no toilet roll holder, the toilet paper sat on top of the cistern, it measured approx 500x1.5 metres But I wasn't concerned because I was apparently changing rooms, well so I thought. In the morning we promptly went down to reception and was met with a lovely young girl (can’t remember her name) she was very helpful, it took her ages to find our booking and kept saying that we didn’t have one, she asked her manager for help and the booking was found, the manager was not happy and was saying very loudly no no no no to a room with a balcony as apparently the photos mean nothing when booking a room, the manager was rude, she didn’t once acknowledge my existence, I had put google translate on to hear her saying no no no no no just repeated it over and over again, telling the girl we will not change them, they will stay in their room, I asked if I could cancel because there was no way I could do another 5 nights in that bathroom to again hear her saying no to a cancellation and repeating we will stay in our room, the receptionist went to translate back, I showed her my phone and said “I heard and understood” she was embarrassed and very apologetic, she was so kind and lovely and it wasn’t her fault that her manager needs to be taught some customer service skills, I couldn’t fault the reception staff, they were lovely and very helpful especially *** and ***. I believe we could have been in the worst room in the hotel 😂because we would see other rooms on our floor with lovely updated big bathrooms, our room could have been tolerated if the bathroom was bigger, and the location was great, just would have been nice to have the balcony I believed I had paid for and there should seriously be a clause when booking that room about the bathroom being ridiculously tiny, the photos do not do it justice. We will live and learn

I stayed with my fiancée for 5 nights. The location can’t be beaten, straight off one of the main streets in Nice: 5 minutes from the beach and 15 from the train station. The staff were really friendly and helpful when needed. The only downside was that our room was quite noisy with people going around in the corridor so didn’t feel very private. We were right by reception and the breakfast room which didn’t help, but the door also has a gap at the bottom. However, apart from that everything was great and I would recommend.

Only used for a few hrs from vacating air b and b and a very late flight ok the same day. The place is fine , very cheap , very helpful staff, clean but dated and tired furniture. Due to location and cost would recommend for a night or less.

The hotel location is best, in the middle of massena area, which is just a few step to restaurant, cafe, store, supermarket, and tourist area The room is tidy, clean, & full kitchen equipment...the reception and hotel staff is very nice & helpful We arrive about 1 hour before check in time...luckily us, the room is ready, and they let us entering the room, love it
