Alexander hostel

I do not recommend this “hotel” at all. To begin with, they claim to be a 3-star hotel just to charge a higher tourist tax, which is basically a scam, since this place doesn’t even deserve half a star. We had to wait 15 minutes for someone to show up and attend us. The double room was terrible. We found small transparent plastic bags on the floor that looked like they were used for drugs. I’ve never slept on such an uncomfortable mattress — it was deformed in the middle, and you would literally roll to the sides. The bathrooms were dirty (and didn’t even have a toilet seat), and there is no hot water if several people shower one after another. The kitchen was also dirty. The place is extremely noisy — you can hear absolutely everything. On our first night, we even had to ask the person in charge to stop shouting while talking to a friend because we couldn’t sleep. The main entrance door is often left open because it doesn’t close properly from the outside. It was also very difficult to find the place, as we didn’t receive any useful information beforehand. It’s a shame that places like this are still operating just because they know someone will end up paying for it. There is a complete lack of investment and care.

I saw the bad reviews and I thought to myself, mehhh whatever I'm only staying for 2 nights. No. Guys it's pretty bad, A SINGLE BATHROOM for the whole hostel. Yup you read that right, one shower in the bathroom so if someone got the shit, good luck taking a shower. And there's 4 dorms with 6-8 bedrooms for 1 bathroom. The staff is as helpful as... Idk what to compare them too. They don't speak English and will treat Italian speaking guest better.. overall just shit. Seriously.

Conveniently close to Napoli Centrale station, Napoli Old Town, and most of the tourist attractions. Can catch a local train from Napoli Centrale to Pompeii Ruins. Bathrooms are far too few though, given the number of guests.

This hostel was awful! Very difficult to find and sometimes you have to pay to use the lift, or walk up six flights of stairs. The staff were not friendly or very helpful at all, and left their dishes in the sink and played loud music. The floors, the kitchen and the bathroom was dirty, and the women’s bathroom didn’t work so we had to use the men’s. The kitchen was so minimally equipped. It didn’t feel like a welcoming or nice place to be at all. It was terrible for backpackers as well, because almost everyone else staying there was at least 40. Thankfully the beds were pretty clean. If you’re in a group it would be okay if you can out up with rough places, but as a solo traveler it was NOT worth the cheap price.
