Abpopa Hillcrest

Loft bed is very close to ceiling and almost DIY looking. Bathroom is limited to a small shower and a toilet either Japanese style wash your hand with the water that fills the tank. The main living space is spacious. Check-in and out was hassle free. No front desk but staff were responsive on the phone and super nice. The cafe downstairs is the highlight and a must try!!

Property sits directly behind a 7/11 full of drugged out homeless people in front screaming at all hours of the night and laying across the sidewalk. I didn’t feel safe and worried our car would get broken into during the night parked udder the carport. We slept on the most uncomfortable and loudest and tiniest platform bed I’ve ever slept on. Between the bed and screaming, it was very difficult to get any sleep. We got up tired and sore each morning. I have no idea how this is considered a 3 star hotel compared to other hotel stays. And while it’s great to be in the Hillcrest neighborhood, it doesn’t feel safe with the current crowd out front. The one positive, the Gooseberry restaurant breakfast was delicious and the owners wonderful. Hope they can relocate to a safer area until the city does something.

Our group included members of a band playing at The Brass Rail. We couldn't have asked for a better location. The rooms are small but we were lucky enough to get the patio room with ample space. The area outside of the Cafe is also available to all guests and perfect to bring takeout back or just hangout. The staff were available and very helpful!!

When I checked in, I was quite disappointed. The bed was in a low-ceilinged loft and there was a fairly big (but unnecessary) kitchenette. But, over my 4 night stay, the place grew on me and got kinda charming. Great location. Staff were super friendly. I would definitely stay there again.
