1 Hotel Tokyo

We are a family of four with two children aged 10 and 12. We booked this hotel because we wanted to stay somewhere upscale in Tokyo with stunning city views. When making the reservation through Agoda, we clearly stated the ages of our children, so we were very surprised to discover that the room was intended for all four of us to share a single king-size bed. At first, I thought there must have been a mistake with the booking, but the hotel confirmed that this was indeed the room we had reserved and that it did not include a sofa bed or any other additional sleeping arrangement. We asked if an extra bed could be provided, but this was only available for an additional charge. They did, however, offer an extra duvet and pillow so that one of our children could sleep on the sofa. Had we known this in advance, we would never have chosen this hotel, especially considering it cost more than twice as much as many other high-quality hotels in Tokyo. The hotel itself is beautifully designed, and the room was spotless, modern, and very comfortable. However, after traveling around Japan, we realized that even hotels costing a fraction of the price are exceptionally clean and generally offer a very high standard. We paid for breakfast on one of our four mornings, at a cost of 5,000 yen per person. It turned out to be a so-called "semi-buffet," meaning that items such as eggs, toast, and most drinks had to be ordered separately at an additional cost. Coffee was included, but refills were not. In the evenings, the lobby transformed into a bar with a DJ and loud music. On one of the days, the restaurant was closed to hotel guests because it had been booked for a private event. The hotel also has a spa with a swimming pool. Everything was new, clean, and well maintained. However, there were many young children playing and splashing in the pool, so it wasn't the peaceful atmosphere we had expected. The staff were polite and professional, but we didn't feel they were genuinely helpful or particularly accommodating. Overall, our stay was a mixed experience. Our biggest disappointment was that the room only had sleeping space for two people. This may not be the hotel's fault—it could be an issue with Agoda allowing the room to be booked for four guests. The hotel is stylish, modern, and offers breathtaking views of Tokyo. However, in our opinion, it simply wasn't worth the premium price for our needs.

We recently stayed in this hotel and could not be more pleased with the experience. Incredibly convenient location, spacious room, spotless, comfortable bed, best shower and top notched view of the city. The staff went above and beyond. The buffet was fantastic, offering great variety of hot and cold options. Great value for money and highly recommended!!!
